The makings of SVI Sportswear began long before our first uniform was printed. It started with a father/coach — Anthony Leach — determined to give his son and young athletes the opportunities, visibility, and support they deserved.
After years of coaching and running an AAU program (Hoopmatics) and helping dozens of players earn college scholarships, Anthony founded Prep Ball Stars in 2011. His work and 20,000+ social media following within the AAU and exposure circuit led to relationships with top players, coaches, and programs across the Midwest. As some of those coaches began to come to him for gear after seeing gear at his camps, it sparked an idea:
Our first-ever order came from NBA player Jeff Teague’s 14-team AAU program — a massive 1,260-piece uniform project that proved there was a real need for a company that could deliver professional-level quality with the personal touch teams were missing. A month later, our second order was with NBA player George Hill’s AAU program. This experience lit the match for the company, and it is still burning today.
